Mobiha Urges All Public Servants to Register

NCD PUBLIC SERVANTS NATIONAL IDENTITY DOCUMENT (NID) REGISTRATION

The Papua New Guinea Civil and Identity Registry (PNGCIR) office will be open seven days a week from 5-9pm for all public servants in the National Capital District (NCD) to register for their national identity document—NID.

Acting Registrar-General Noel Mobiha said that PNGCIR’s registration officers will be working tirelessly to assist all public servants in NCD starting— Friday 4th September till the end of this month.

Mobiha urges all public servants to assist PNGCIR by making it their responsibility to enquire at the PNGCIR office to check on their NID registration status if they’ve already registered or to register for NID if they are yet to be registered.

“Let us all work together to achieve Marape-Steven government’s directive through the Department of Personnel Management (DPM) for PNGCIR to register all public servants nationwide onto the NID database thus ensuring all public servants having access to their NID,” Mobiha said.

In addition, Mobiha said that public servants outside of NCD must submit their names to their respective Human Resource Divisions and indicate whether to register for NID or to check their registration status if they’ve already registered.

Human Resource Managers should then schedule a registration date for NID registration of its staff and notify the PNGCIR office to assign mobile registration teams to attend to them as soon as possible.
